    @WoOSprintCars The thing is, he will catch a lot more Bluegills in a short space of time than anyone on a rod will. Thats important when fishing competitions, which is what poles were primarlily developed for. Try one, they are a fantastic piece of kit.

    @Prededer2426 This is going to sound horrible but you can produce your own if you have the stomach for the smell. Take a large bucket, put in the bottom a piece of mesh about 4 inch high. Then, this is the horrible bit, put a dead chicken or rabbit inside. Put a lid on with a hole about the size of a golf ball in it. Leave it for a couple of weeks. Flies get to the carcass and lay eggs, thus producing maggots. The mesh allows them to collect underneath the carcass.
